It is the primary objective of A1 IMS to provide a safe and  healthy working environment, so far as is practicable, without risk to health of  the employees, contractors, clients and visitors and the community and to encourage an  attitude of safety in all areas of its activities.

In order to achieve this objective, it is the policy of the company to establish and effectively maintain an occupational health and safety program accredited to AS.4801.2001 Health and Safety Standard.

This includes:

  • Providing and maintaining safe systems of work;
  • Making and monitoring arrangements for the safe use, handling, storage and transport of products and materials;
  • Maintaining the workplace in a safe and  healthy condition;
  • Providing adequate facilities to protect the welfare of all employees;
  • Providing information, training and supervision for all employees, enabling them to work in a safe and healthy manner.
  • Making the policy available to interested parties as required

Effective management of workplace health and safety is essential to the sound and efficient management of the company activities. Injury prevention is an integral part of our business. This is achieved through the setting of measurable targets and using these as the basis for a continuous improvement program aimed at eliminating injuries at work.

In fulfilling the objectives of this policy, management is committed to consultation with employees to ensure that health and safety issues are regularly reviewed.

Management is committed to, and will observe, implement and fulfil its responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act 2004, relevant Regulations and Compliance Codes; and the requirements of AS4801.2001 Health and Safety Standard.

All employees are responsible for ensuring as far as possible, that they carry out their work in a manner which will not harm themselves or anyone else; and will abide by all safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment, accident and incident reporting, and emergency response…

This policy will be reviewed annually in consultation with management and those employees with designated or elected health and safety responsibilities.  Management expects the co-operation of all employees in realizing our health and safety objectives and in creating a safe working environment.
